Kenneth King for Assembly District 17
Kenneth King is a retired U.S. Navy veteran and a member of VFW Post 10047 as well as IBEW local 357 Las Vegas Electrical union. He has been married to his wife Sancy since 1988 and they have no children.
Ken was born in 1962 at Jefferson Davis Hospital Houston Texas. He grew up in the Kansas City Missouri area. And graduated high school in 1981 from Van Horn High School. After working with his father for two years writing programs for computers he joined the U.S. Navy in 1983. He retired in 1998 at San Diego CA.
Some of the issues that Ken wants to work on are:
Get Nevada back to work, we don’t have the resources or the time to wait for the Federal Government. And need to take it upon ourselves to get it done. We need to go to business in States with high taxes and ask them what would need to be done to get them to move to Nevada and bringing jobs with them. Fight tax hikes, rising taxes in Nevada will just push business away from the state and will push the tourists to take vacations elsewhere. Yes it’s a fine line to walk on taxes but there are other ways to bring in revenue than just rise taxes each time the state needs money. Our Education is one of the worst in the Nation. Business will not come here if the children do not get at least a average education. We need to work with the public and private Education system in our state and build a new system. Keeping what is not working and just throwing money at it is not the right answer. Ken's platform is in line with the Clark County Republican Party's which can be seen here.
